Aunt Lishy's Visit

My sister, Alicia, recently came to visit. (Hereafter referred to as "Aunt Lish or Lishy"):) and we had such a great time. She got to stay for almost a week. We had a really relaxed time, which was nice. We just took each day as it came and figured out what we wanted to do. We visited our 2 brothers who live in the DFW area, went shopping, chatted a ton, and visited some antique shops. She is very talented and helped me work on some pictures for my living room. (We have lived here 3 years and I hadn't found what I want until now.) Claire warmed up to her quickly and had fun with another person around. We love you Aunt Lish!!

Wonderful Friends

I recently went to a Scentsy party at my friend's house. It was a lot of fun and lots of smelling! My friend has a daughter 6 months older than Claire and always dresses her in the cutest clothes. Anyway, she asked if I wanted some clothes for Claire. Are you kidding me? Of course, especially since I will be home now. So, she gave me a bunch of adorable clothes, shoes, and jackets. This outfit is especially cute, and I had to put Claire in it when Aunt Lish came to visit. She is playing with Mommy's jewelry and proving she is all girl!! I love you, Cutie!

Fun with Friends

I have really enjoyed our summer together! Claire and I have had some play dates, go on lots of walks together and spend time with my friends, who in turn make friends for Claire too! :) The other day, we had lunch with some girls who I taught with. I had a blast! I loved getting to catch up and actually see my friends. One of them had her girl along, so Claire had a friend too. We even went to a jewelry store to shop. Talk about fun girl time!

Sleeping isn't fun

The other day, I had lunch with a girlfriend. Before I left, I put Claire down for her nap. A little bit later, Chad texted me saying, "Nap, yeah right." Claire was sitting in her bed, banging on the side. In fact, our neighbors were getting work down on their A/C unit. Chad thought the banging was coming from their house, only to find out it was Little Miss, taking her "nap." :)

On the move..

FINALLY! Claire got her little legs moving forward now, so she can officially crawl! She had her arms and legs in the right position for a while, but she would only go backward. Or, if she went forward, it was only one leg and then a face plant! The other day, honestly, it felt like out of the blue she just got her legs going the right way and moved forward! I love watching her go. I think it is so cute!! Watch out world...here she comes!

4th of July

I bought a really cute book with ideas for sewing children's clothes. There is a really cute dress in there, but the pattern is for size 2-3 and up. So, I attempted to modify it so I could make Claire a dress. It worked perfectly! I had so much fun sewing it and felt so successful when it turned out. It even fit just right. She wore it to church and actually kept a headband on...I think! :) Little Miss America!!

Uh-Oh Spaghetti-O

I made some homemade spaghetti rings for Claire. She REALLY enjoyed feeding herself! I wish we would have left all the ones that made it to her belly instead of her mouth, but I cleaned her off before Daddy got the camera. Needless to say, she is growing so much and likes to be independent. She is the sweetest thing in the world to me, and I love watching her little moments when she discovers something new, good or bad! Oh...did I ever mention broccoli-that goes in the "bad" category for Claire. :)

Pretty in Pink

Here are a couple cute pictures of Claire after church on Father's Day. We had Chad's family over for lunch. Claire is usually very intrigued by my jewelry, so I put this necklace combo on her. She seemed to like seeing and touching it better when it is around Mommy's neck!
