Baby Boy Belly

Just in case you want to see...I realized I have not taken many photos during this pregnancy so far. I am sad to admit it, but I plan to do better. Here is one from this past weekend, so I am 23 weeks.

Silly Snapshots

Claire is a blast and keeps us on our toes! The other night, she was in the bathroom, looking at her bath toys. I was working on something and came back in to check on her. She had climbed into the tub and was playing with her toys...essentially taking a bath MINUS the water! Her behind and legs had gotten a little wet, due to the squirty toys having water in them. She had fun, I had a good laugh and it all ended well!

Fun with Claire

Now that I am able to go places throughout the week, we have created a nice little routine...well, sort of. Claire and I visit our library weekly for storytime. She really seems to enjoy it! She likes the stories, puppet shows, songs and getting to ring the bells during the songs. Here are a few pictures of her enjoying her time!

Christmas 2010

We had a really great Christmas season this year. I enjoyed spending it with family and had a lot of fun seeing Claire tear open her gifts. We attended our Christmas Eve service, came home for dinner and then opened gifts. It reminded me of how we spent Christmas Eve growing up. We spent Christmas Day with Chad's family at his sister's house and had a great time.
Claire is such a character and tends to have a silly grin or smirk on her face a lot! We loved watching her get into her gifts. She got a baby doll and was sooo excited when she saw it. She passed it over to me, with a look that said, "Here, Mom, open it up." I got it all out for her and she immediately stuck the doll's pacifier in her own mouth! After I put it back in baby's mouth, I handed Claire the doll and she lifted it up and kissed it. SO adorable!!!

Ba, ba, ba, brother!!!

Before we ever found out we were expecting, I would ask Claire if she wanted a "ba, ba, ba brother" or a "s, s, s, sister." She answered with a faint, "b" sound, so I guess that means brother! Well, we went in for our sonogram in December and found out, it's a BOY!!! We are thrilled! It was so cool, because he had barely asked us if we wanted to know the gender before he said, "It's a boy!" Now, with all of us having C names, we are at a standstill as far as a name goes. We have part of it, but we're not sure about the rest. To go with C or not? I don't know!!! I love talking with Claire about her baby brother. She is going to be a fun big sister! She is practicing with her new baby doll as well as handing me wipes and diapers when need, or not needed!

Guilty as charged

The other night, Chad and I were both relaxing on the couches, Little Miss was playing, or so we thought. We had recently gotten all the Christmas tree and decorations up, so I figured it was time to place the nicely wrapped gifts under the tree. In the midst of her "playing" she had gotten a gift, which happened to have her name on it, tore open the paper and began eating it. She had a piece of the paper in her mouth and was walking around with it, almost as if to say, "Look what I did!" I didn't place the striped paper with gift paper!! I continued to let her "play." Her evidence was to the side where I couldn't see it, just in case you're wondering. OH, and I do pay attention to what she is doing, but all seemed harmless. Well, after just a few minutes, I looked around to the other side of the couch and noticed a gently torn gift! She hadn't gotten into the box yet, so that will be re-wrapped for the day we open gifts for real! At least I know she gets how to open gifts, and somehow she knows which ones have her name on them! Silly girl...love you!

First Haircut

Ok..it's a little, or a lot, late in coming. We took Claire for her first haircut on October 30th. We chose a kid's place, knowing she would probably squirm. She did GREAT!! She wiggled a little, but the lady was really nice and patient. She only charged us for a bangs cut since Claire didn't have much to cut off. So, no more rockin' the mullet for her!! She looks so cute. Enjoy!

Big Sister

We took Claire to the pumpkin patch this weekend. I had been wanting to go for a while, but it is tricky with Chad's work schedule. Thankfully he was off this weekend because it was the last weekend they were open. So, we took Claire and sported her "Big Sister" shirt so we could take pictures and share our exciting news. We are due in May, and we are so happy! It will be interesting to see how Claire reacts to a growing Mommy belly and the reality of a new baby around. Thankfully she has gotten practice sharing me with the other 2 kids I take care of. She will be a great big sis!!
